Bet that Safari Velvet Ride motorhome really does ride like velvet . . . until it hits a bump!

If your customer owns this coach, when he hits a bump he never knows which direction he’s going to go because the beam has no limiting factors built into it.

The Safari Velvet Ride motorhome relies for suspension on a big rubber torsion beam made of bonded rubber. The beam really works and does give a soft ride.

But, owners complain when they hit a bump the coach may dart to the left or right. As one man explains it, “It’s kind of like trying to hold on to a rubber band. You never know which way you’re going to go.”

The Velvet Ride beam can also cause road wander which means you have to correct steering constantly.

If your customer has this problem, his Velvet Ride coach may be equipped with the original torsion bars.

Stop The Problem

These bars are the remedying guide that minimizes the road wander and side-to-side movement.

They were designed by a Safari Velvet Ride owner at Pioneer Metal Works in Washington State (who had the same problem himself). They bolt right on, pivot on the shackle & get right to the problem area. They let the coach rise & fall but stop side-to-side movement.

Initially, to remedy the problem, the factory put just one thrust bar on the driver’s side. But they used heim joints which wear out and get loose.

You will install bars on both the driver & passenger side. The bars fit front to back.

These bars are constructed heavier-duty and with urethane bushings so your customer should have no more problems.
