A Quick History Of the Chevy/
Workhorse “Widetrack” Motorhome

Just before the turn of the new century, General Motors sold their Motorhome Division to Workhorse.

Workhorse decided to widen their platform to accommodate the wide bodies coach builders were putting on them. So, they built a new “Widetrack” version of the P32 chassis to widen the track at the wheels.

The Problem That Developed With
The New Widetrack Design

To support the new Widetrack, Workhorse developed a wider anti-sway bar. But they kept the pickup points on the frame in the same position.

As you examine where bushings are placed on the original front sway bar (Fig. 1 above), imagine how much more leverage the factory bushings must now endure.

An additional 6½ inches of anti-sway bar now extends beyond each one of the original front bushings on the OEM sway bar. But the bushings still sit closer together right where they were originally.

This extra length allows the factory sway bar to flex considerably more than it should. Predictably, that extra flex results in more sway, broken bolts & brackets & extra downtime & expense for your customer.

This New Roadmaster Spreader Bar puts a
badly needed foundation back under the coach.

Suspensionbar

The new Roadmaster Suspension Bar (Fig. 2 above) installs up over the top of the original equipment sway bar. It uses existing front sway bar bolt holes to hold it in position so it fits the factory bar exactly, yet adds inches on which to anchor new bushings further out.

This Spreader Bar places a new set of bushings out near the outside edge of the sway bar. (See Fig. 3 above). In this position, the new bushings give the sway bar support it needs so he avoids breaking bolts or brackets on lower control arms.

Things Just Work Better

With the change in this bar, your customer gets less body roll during lane changes, more stability on uneven roads and windy conditions . . . and peace of mind.

Made Of Good Stuff

The Davis TruTrac is cadmium plated and uses polyurethane bushings for long life.
